I’ll (probably) be releasing some ringtones of my own, and in research, I chanced across this video at YouTube, with a ringtone reputedly for Motorola phones:
Wow! Crazy-wild, funny. I wanted it on my iPhone, and I got it there.
I used the DownloadHelper Firefox plugin to get the video, then ripped the sound out of the video with VLC, trimmed it and exported it to .aac (with Audacity and the ffmpeg library). (I probably could have just gotten it to .aac from VLC, but wasn’t figuring out how.) I then renamed the file .m4p and uploaded it to my (jailbroken) phone’s ringtunes directory — and it showed up as a selectable, and working, ringtone.
You can skip all that and just import the following file into your iTunes library –
and click and drag it into opened iTunes. Sync iTunes with your phone and it will show up as a ringtone you can pick under Settings -> Sounds.
This probably isn’t legal, but this is probably only also being read by a few of my friends. Download it if you like . . . this post will disappear soon.
